Room Parent Updates
10/24/21
Hello MAC 3 Oak families!
My name is Rho (mom to Olders Nyah and Kingston), and I am the room parent for this school year. I hope you and your students are having a good start to fall. With COVID precautions still in effect, some traditional classroom volunteer functions like Thursday folders and classroom party helpers aren’t needed yet. One role the room parent has is helping share PTO communications via email in lieu of traditional handouts and Infinite campus emails.
Welcome to all new and returning families! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Please send me your preferred email address as the teachers are not allowed to share that information with me directly.
If you haven’t had the opportunity yet, please go to the Lake Bluff PTO’s website at www.LakeBluffBeagle.com and sign-in for the year. Also kindly make your annual contribution to the Annual Teacher & Staff Gift Fund. This is what our class uses to purchase holiday and year end gifts for our amazing teachers and aides.
You can also update your child's information, obtain access to the school directory and so much more on the website. If you prefer to use your phone, you can download the Membership Toolkit app.
Every parent and guardian is a member of the PTO. Details on monthly PTO meetings, including date, time and link are shared in the weekly newsletter which is included in Principal Rasco’s Thursday Rasco Review email and on our website.
Additionally, join the PTO on October 29 for Friday Coffee. The PTO will have a table on the front lawn with hot coffee starting at 8am. You can stop by for 5 minutes or stay for a longer chat. It will be a great opportunity to meet other parents; learn about the PTO; ask questions and possibly meet Lake Bluff or District representatives.
Please consider participating in our big fundraising activity going on now... Original Works! This favorite fundraiser lets families order products made for their child’s art work. You can use what is sent home or create another work. Perfect for holiday gifts for relatives. Information should have arrived this week or it will arrive early next week. Details can be found here. All orders are due 10/29.
Why do we have fundraising? These activities help fund the PTO programming which supports students and teachers. Because COVID dramatically reduced our fundraising participation and our largest fundraiser has been canceled two years in a rw, the PTO has to actively raise funds to support our mission. Our efforts support community building within Lake Bluff. Your participation in fundraisers; through monetary donations and your time, helps the PTO provide grants and meals to teachers, staff pick-me-ups, the All School Read for families, 6th grade graduation, prizes for our various contests, Screen Free Week activities and so much more.
If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know. My future notes will not be this lengthy I promise:)
Thanks for your time and attention,
Rho
