Our work this spring began with learning about the digestive system. Students then applied their understanding of the digestive system to how the quantity and quality of what we eat matters. We welcomed one of the directors of the Shorewood Farmers Market into our classroom and learned about specific facts and statistics related to the ecological, social, and nutritional benefits of farmers markets in communities. Finally, each student was responsible for writing one article for their group's newsletter. Please see the 11-different newsletters below!
We hope to see you at the Shorewood Farmers Market this summer! It opens Sunday, June 17th and runs through Sunday, October 28th from 9:30 am-1:00 pm. |
